Dr. Cornelius Kniepert

Areas of Practice: Dr Cornelius Kniepert specialises in medical law and health law. He wrote his doctoral thesis in the area of medical malpractice law and worked in parallel at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg as a research assistant.

During his legal clerkship, he worked at the Hamburg Regional Court and the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in a chamber/senate for medical malpractice cases. In addition, Mr Kniepert worked for an international law firm in the field of Healthcare & Lifescience, where he supported various manufacturers of medicinal products and medical devices on regulatory issues at national and European level. He also worked for the Federal Joint Committee, where he dealt with issues such as quality assurance, demand planning and disease management programmes.

The focus of his legal work is on advising and representing outpatient and inpatient facilities for the care of the elderly and the sick, hospitals as well as doctors in private practice, dentists and other service providers in the health care sector. In particular, Cornelius Kniepert advises on the areas of SGB V, SGB XI, SGB XII, nursing home law, contract physician law and the professional law of physicians and dentists. Another part of his work includes liability law, drafting contracts and defending and enforcing claims for service providers in the health care sector, as well as the corresponding representation in official and court proceedings on all of the aforementioned areas.
